I am excited to be preparing three pieces for an upcoming exhibit called Fourth Coast Illuminated. This exhibit of art by GNSI artists from the Great Lakes region will feature flora, fauna, and archaeological artifacts of the area.Â
The exhibit will be held in the Glen Vista Gallery of the Kalamazoo Nature Center from July 1 – August 30, 2014 . Kalamazoo Nature Center is one of the most highly regarded nature centers in the country and is considered a leader in the field.
I will be including three botanical works in the exhibit:
Spring Beauties – ink and colored pencil.
White Trillium Bud – ink and colored pencil.
Wildflower Leaf Survey – graphite pencil.
Â
If you are local to the area or find yourself in Kalamazoo this summer, stop by and see the wonderful work that will be on display!

My name is Carol, and I am the owner and artist behind CCreech Studio here in Ann Arbor, MI.
My creative journey has been a long, slow, winding road that somehow always seems to come back to drawing, nature and working with my hands. I enjoy working with a variety of materials, and my creative goal is to connect my customers to nature, but in a purposeful, elegant and useful way.
No matter what I create, I will provide you with a high-quality piece made by my own hands; something that inspires you with a little “ah-ha!” of your own. Perhaps it is a favorite color, plant, or animal that has meaning for you? Or maybe it is a perfectly sized mini-journal to take with your during your day for notes/creative writing/sketches? Or it could even be a single stone with just the right shape, color or perfect imperfection that makes you feel like you have found a part of yourself. Whatever you find, I hope that you enjoy the connection to nature and durable simplicity of each creation. Please take a look around to see what catches your eye!

They are so beautiful!!
Thank you, Erin!
Lovely work Carol! I especially am taken with the graphite page of leaves. The way they extend out over the lines adds a lot to the page. Congrats on being included in the exhibition!!
Thanks, Janene! I so appreciate your feedback. I really like the graphite piece, too. It was so fun to see it really come together.
